RECEIVE YOUR SIGHT

"What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? ... Lord, that I may receive my sight." —Luke 18:41

During a prestigious art exhibition, a blind sculptor named James was invited to showcase his works. Despite his lack of sight, James had become a celebrated artist, creating intricate sculptures that captivated audiences worldwide.

At the event, a curious journalist asked him, “How do you create such breathtaking works without seeing?”James smiled and replied, “I may not see with my physical eyes, but I see with my heart and my spirit. True vision goes beyond what the eyes perceive; it is about understanding and connecting with something greater.”

This profound statement echoes the words of the psalmist: “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law” (Psalm 119:18). Physical sight is invaluable, but spiritual vision is what truly allows us to perceive the wonders of God’s promises and blessings.

Our Lord Jesus demonstrated this when He opened the understanding of His disciples, enabling them to comprehend the Scriptures (Luke 24:45). The Bible is a treasure trove of divine promises, but to access them, we need spiritual enlightenment.Interestingly, just as our physical eyes depend on light to function, our spiritual eyes rely on Jesus, the Light of the World. Without Him, we stumble in darkness. To truly see, we must seek Him, just as the Greeks once said to Philip, “Sir, we would see Jesus” (John 12:21).

Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1:17-19 resonates with this truth:
"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him; the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe.

"Do you desire to see clearly this year—both physically and spiritually? Seek Jesus, the Light that dispels darkness and opens the eyes of the heart. With Him, you will see the wonders of His love, promises, and power. Amen!
