(March 8)-SAVED TO SAVE AND SERVE OTHERS-Part1 Study 8

Undoubtedly, the book of Mark ignites us as believers to the highest need of the proclamation of the gospel of Christ to the dying world! Just like John was chosen to prepare the way and proclaim the gospel to the people of his time as in Mark 1:2-5, so are we chosen today to do the same to those living in our generation! It is interesting to note that the gospel by Mark opens with emphasis on evangelism: "And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men." (Mark 1:17). It equally closes with the same call to go all the way, to ensure that the gospel is preached to everyone at whatever cost! "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." John Mark heart beat and passion towards soulwinnig as spelt out in this gospel is understandable from his close alliance with Paul and Barnabas. Their burning zeal for salvation of souls transformed the gentiles nations or rather turned the world upside down for Christ! God expect nothing less from us.

The Psalmist said in Psalm 22:30,"A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation." Your seed in Christ is meant by which every generation can be reached and redeemed. Nature has a way of transferring itself into the next generation. This is why cat remains cat, and goat will remain goat! Christ came to produce a generation of godly seeds that show forth Christ life and nature on earth to God's praise and glory! The seed of corruption and depravity is removed when the inner spirit of man is regenerated. Apart from the genetic composition which is transferred from one generation to another, there is the important aspect of brooding over the young offspring that models the young infants after the parents. This, in spiritual sense is called discipleship. Jesus lived His daily life before the saved and chosen disciples to form and translates them into his own image.

MARCH 22: SAVED TO SAVE AND SERVE OTHERS.(Part 3). Study 10

"He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap." Says Solomon in “Ecclesiastes 11:4”. In our text in the book of Mark above, two contrasting episodes are revealed. “The Priests and the Scribes that were preoccupied and scheming on how to destroy Jesus! While the woman with alabaster box of precious oil, was working hard to offer Christ her best, with a deal of bountiful and memorable services that according to Christ would remain unforgettable legacy!” “Mark 14:9”. Everyday presents you with opportunity to present Christ with your best, not minding what others choose to be preoccupied with. You will only be remembered by what you have done for Christ and His Church.
