DIVINE MENTORSHIP

What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. - Psalm 25:12

Making the right life choice could be difficult. While there are many teachers, authors and mentors in the world today, the best Mentor, Teacher and Life Coach remains God through His Holy Spirit. Everyone is made to have a good and perfect life according to God’s plan. Because we are made with freewill, therefore choices we make can alter such perfect divine plan. It is therefore pertinent to learn and be mentored by the One who has your life master plan to mitigate life damaging errors.

The blame is on you (not God) if anything goes wrong. Our daily lives are controlled by the choices we make and probably the environment we live in too. With differing consequences, each choice leads you to your destiny. Hence, your fate (what you become in life) is a product of many decisions you make in life, not necessarily as God has designed it. Only God and time will reveal if such decisions align with predestined God’s plan: your expected end (Jeremiah 29:13).

If you make God your life Coach and Mentor, you’ll need to cooperate with Him in total compliance to His terms and conditions. Prophet Jeremiah knew this when he said, O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps (Jeremiah 10:23). King Solomon thought he knew it all until he realised that “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12).

God may lead you in different ways. (i) By direct conversation Thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left (Isaiah 30:21). It is a still gentle voice not the rushing harsh tone from the flesh or satan. (ii) Through His Word (the Bible);  David said, Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105); (iii) By constant obedience: For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous..(Psalms 1:6) (iv) By having a good heart towards all men and God. The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. (Psalms 37:23).

Beloved, making God our Mentor could seem hard at the beginning. But if you fear him, He will spare you from wrong choices or redirect you if you ever go wrong.  Make it a habit to consult God in the very smallest decision. The Omniscient God knows what each choice leads to: and which environment best fits you. So, it is wise therefore to make Him your Guide.

Today’s Recite: I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. (Psalm 32:8).

Today’s Morning Prayer: O God I thank You for having a perfect plan for me. I declare You as my life Coach and Mentor. Grant me Your grace to make right decisions that align with Your will. Don’t let me err from Your perfect way. Lead me to my perfect and glorious end in Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen.
