SUFFICIENT IN ALL THINGS

God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. - 2 Corinthians 9:8

John Wesley was sailing to Georgia on a missionary journey and there was a tempest. He was so terrified by the storm.  Then he sighted some Moravian Christians onboard who were so calm and happy, singing hymns and praying. Despite being an ordained preacher for many years John felt the Moravians possessed some things which he felt he lacked: a deep faith and enriched souls. That singular experience changed John Wesley's life and eventually led to his genuine salvation.  

Like the Moravian Christians Wesley met, everyone who has a true encounter with Christ is enriched with eternal possession of unspeakable joy and riches. In spite of the storms, there was no fear or dread. “For the kingdom of God is …righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (Romans 14:17). A true believer lacks nothing. Paul prayed, “My God shall supply all your need according to [divine] riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). 

In case you think believers do not deserve the best, David said, “No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Moreover, He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32). Are you a true believer? it does not matter the pain, sorrow and suffering of the moment. Remember you are enriched in Christ beyond human comprehension. Your possession is beyond you. “All things are yours…things present, or things to come; all are yours. (1 Corinthians 3:21,23).  

Do you lack the true and deep faith of the Moravians, come unto Christ today. Jesus said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all ... things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).  Then you can boldly say, “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1). Because our living God gives us richly all things to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17).

Today’s Morning Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for all things You have made available for me to enjoy. I refuse to allow the devil and unbelief to rob me of my possessions. I pray for the grace to be contented in all things. I receive faith, grace and glory to live in abundance in Jesus name. Amen!
