September 1: MOVE UNTO PERFECTION

MOVE UNTO PERFECTION

“Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God," - Hebrews 6:1

The action or process of improving something until it is faultless is what is called perfection. Abraham was adjudged the father of faith but he had his little beginning of many mistakes. His life was not getting impressive until God told him, "I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect." (Genesis 17:1). God is asking you too, enough of the rise-and-fall life.

We know every elderly person on the surface of the earth was once a baby. But in the course of life, many events and experiences have shaped the lives and the wisdom of old men and women. An adult who has refused to match his age with his conduct will be appropriate to be called "a moron". So, as every day, month or year passes by, it reminds everyone of the need to be better or do things differently and with fewer faults and blame.

In holiness strive to be perfect. in your career, learn to be a master. In serving God, determine to be faultless. God desires all children to grow unto perfection: to put away childish things and stop making silly mistakes. "Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world” (Galatians 4:3). But as you grow up in the faith, it is time to do away with childish things and be free from the elements of worldliness that easily entangle you. Remember, “As long as the heir is a child, he’s not different from a slave.” As long as a believer still loves the fantasies of this world, he is not different from an enslaved sinner. It will be of great concern to God if you enter another month the same.

Dear friend, it is time to grow up and take up your dignity and honour in the kingdom. “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age” (Titus 2:11-12). It is time to move to perfection.

Today’s Recite:  "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." - Matthew 5:48

Today’s Morning Prayers:  O Lord, I thank you for a new day and month of grace. I disentangle myself from the bondage of sin and worldly amusements today. I hereby ascend to perfection level before You O God of my salvation. I refuse to be stagnant. Grant me grace to grow in holiness and wisdom in Jesus' name. Amen!
