The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. - Isaiah 40:3 (KJV)
England's monarchs are historically known to have their own dedicated road or way leading to the palace. Many buildings are often pulled to make enough space during construction. It is closed to the public. Such a king's way is reserved for those heading to the palace and of course, those who are authorised. In a similar fashion, there is a King's way to God's palace.
God's highway is a reserved way to only the deserving. You will need to be qualified to walk in the King's way. Such may start with an invitation, a first encounter, or a meeting: an initial point of agreement at a courtesy visit. “Can two walk together, except they are agreed?” (Amos 3:3). Such an encounter that can draw the attention of heaven and God, in particular, is your repentance and breaking off from all unrighteous deals. It may require that you restitute, repair or reposition your own way to make room for the King's way.
Whatever needs to be pulled down in your life to make room for the King's way must be cleared out of the way. Enoch was very familiar with the King's way. And God decided to walk him to heaven in broad daylight. Such an experience is still possible today if you choose to.
Beloved, walking in the King's way means fellowshipping with Him. “Our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ (1 John 1:3). Daily early morning devotion and evening meditations are good ways to start. It will require standing for the truth and righteousness at all times. And lastly, such a walk with God requires constantly following Him, working for Him, doing His bids, and promoting and implementing His agenda in the world.
Today’s Recite: Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me" (Matthew 16:24).
Today’s Morning Prayers: O Lord I thank You for a new exposition to be like You. Grant me Your grace to deny myself to walk with You. I want to know You more and more and do things like You. Let my behaviour today reflect my walk with You in Jesus name. Amen!
