THE LAWS OF MOTION

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:" - Philippians 1:6

At the age of 23, Sir Isaac Newton created the gravitational theory in 1666. Through the creation of his three laws of motion which were first published in 1686 (at age 43), Newton not only succeeded in revolutionising science, but he also proved scientifically the spiritual law of cause and effect.

Newton's first law states that when an object is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will continue to do so unless a force acts against it. It means one will remain stagnant for life unless something is done. And if you have set something in motion, it will continue to progress unless something or someone tampers with it.

Newton’s second law describes the quantity of the changes that a force can produce on a moving object, either to make it go faster or slow it down. In life, if you want to be the best, you will need to put in the best force. According to Newton's third law, forces applied by two bodies in contact with each other must be equal in magnitude and directed in the opposite direction. The 3rd law is also called the law of action and reaction. This means every action has consequences and for every effort you put in, there is a (physical or spiritual) resistance from the opposition or enemy.

Thankfully, God has assured His children that whatever He has put in motion in your life will continue to progress. But he needs your cooperation. He needs you to be watchful of forces that may oppose, distract or derail you. Youthful lust and pleasures, social media and web surfing, laziness and peer pressure, television and distracting thoughts can be the opposing forces against your life motion. Are you presented with a low-start opportunity in a job or business? Do not despise the small and humble beginning, for the Lord will promote you in due time if you keep it in motion and do not give up (Zachariah 4:10). "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." (1 Corinthians 15:58). Keep moving until you are fulfilled.

Today’s Recite: "Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase." - Job 8:7

Today’s Morning Prayer:

  • O God, I Thank You for another new day. Thank You for today’s lesson. Grant me Your grace to be steadfast.
  • Remove every trait of laziness, distractions, youthful pleasures and arrogance from me. Help me to focus and be watchful.
  • Wherever I find myself today, let me have constant progress in my goal pursuit. Bless the work of my hand. For ask all in Jesus mighty name. Amen
