October 20: GROWTH IS GRADUAL, BE PATIENT

GROWTH IS GRADUAL, BE PATIENT

“For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. - Mark 4:28.

Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells. It is growth-gone-out-of-control, invading other parts of the body, destroying everything it touches. Cancer ultimately kills the host body if not stopped.

Cancerous cells are dangerous because they skip normal stages in cell development. They multiply and even increase in size, yet they often do not grow into maturity. Though they grow rapidly, many of them also starve to death rapidly due to the inadequate nutrients to serve their bizarre population.

In the focal verse today, our Lord Jesus Christ described the normal growth stages of crops. A normal crop will not skip any of the stages. Hence the kingdom of God and by extension, our individual life is likened to the growing seed. The work of grace must be gradual for it to be stable. In your stability lies steadfastness.

Don't outrun God. Be patient. Impatience will turn you cancerous, and injurious to yourself and ultimately to others.

Every life stage is important to garner strength, experience, wisdom and maturity along. God has destined His children for a better, higher and greater outlook every day. That your today shall be higher than your yesterday and your tomorrow better than today. "Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase." (Job 8:7). "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little" (Isaiah 28:10).

Beloved, be it in your business, or children's academics, be patient to "grow up into Him in all things, who is the head, even Christ." (Ephesians 4:15). No part must be skipped or left behind. God expects that your life should equally grow in every aspect. All that is required from you is to have Jesus in your life; be patient and diligent. With Christ and the Holy Spirit, the Stabilizer, you will enjoy steady growth all around.

Today’s Recite: "But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen. - 2 Peter 3:18
