‘’The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want” - Psalm 23:1
Our today's key verse conveys a sense of belonging, trust, assurance and personalisation of the Lordship of Christ in David. It means no matter what we may face in life, God will always be there to provide for our needs and lead us in the right direction. We can trust in Him to lead us and provide for us, and so we shall never lack anything.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the good and great shepherd. He prioritises the safety and provision of His flock. He laid his life for the sheep. When the devil stiffens our finances, the good shepherd provides. The great Shepherd provides comfort and a peaceful zone for his own sheep. He is the Chief Shepherd (1 Peter 5:4) among the pastors who also work tirelessly to watch over the flock.
At times, "we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way," but the great Shepherd seeks to restore us; even taking the blame for our wandering and backsliding (Isaiah 53:6). Are you lost? Are you in want? Do you lack? As admonished by Apostle Peter, please return now to the Shepherd and Bishop of your soul (1 Peter 2:25). He will find you, restore you and settle in safety.
He never fails those who seek and declare Him as My Shepherd. If you can confess repent today and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, He will be Your Shepherd too. When there seems to be no food at home, declare, "The Lord is My Shepherd". When in emergency need, declare, "The Lord is My Shepherd." He will come to your rescue. He will provide and you shall neither lack nor want any good thing.

Today’s Morning Prayers: Oh Lord Jesus, my Great and Good Shepherd, I thank You for laying down Your life for me. I confess and repent of my sins and I accept as my personal Lord, Saviour and Shepherd. I ask that You will never leave me nor forsake me. In my slightest wandering find me quickly Lord. Provide for my needs. Grant me Your comfort, abundance and peace in Jesus' name! Amen!
