PLEA BARGAIN WITH GOD

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” - Isaiah 1:18

In criminal court proceedings, a plea bargain, also known as a plea agreement or plea deal, is a negotiated deal wherein the prosecution makes a concession to the defendant in exchange for a plea of guilt or nolo contendere. This could imply that in exchange for the dismissal of several charges, the defendant will enter a guilty plea to one of the various offences, or it could imply that the defendant will enter a guilty plea to the original criminal charge in exchange for a lighter punishment.

By agreeing to a plea deal, criminal defendants can potentially avoid the possibility of being found guilty at trial on a more serious charge and both sides can avoid an extended criminal trial. For instance, in the American legal system, a defendant facing a felony theft accusation, which if proven true would result in a state prison sentence, would be given the option to enter a guilty plea to a misdemeanour theft charge, which might not result in a jail sentence.

In today's key verse, God is offering all sinners a plea bargain deal. No matter the gravity (the weight) of your sin, God is ready to grant you eternal pardon; a dismissal of all charges against you and the freedom from subsequent misdemeanour.

"Come, Let us reason together," the Lord beckons you before the door of mercy is closed. God is offering you a divine exchange of a death sentence with eternal life. There is no point hiding when God knows all your secret sins. "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13). Christ has paid it all for you. If you are willing and compliant to the divine negotiation, a promise of goodness and prosperity is guaranteed.

Today’s Recite: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23

Today’s Morning Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to You with all my sins. I am ready to negotiate my life with You, O God. I confess all my sins and ask for your salvation. Help me out of my predicament. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. Grant me Your grace to sin no more. For in Jesus' name, I pray.  Amen

Today’s Hymn: JUST AS I AM WITHOUT ONE PLEA
