"Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent." - Revelation 2:5 (NKJV)
The village was situated on a plain. All the people of the town had a simple and happy life. Every morning they would wake up to the sound of birds chirping and the sun shining brightly in the sky. They would spend their days working in the fields, taking care of their livestock. At moonlight, they would gather to tell stories, sing songs, and laugh with each other. Life was simple and peaceful.
However, those days are long gone. The town has changed drastically over the years. Technology has changed the way people interact with each other and the way they live. Only the old-timers can still remember what it was like in the good old days. "Gone are those days," they say. The memories will remain in the hearts of those who lived them.
Starting a new life in Christ is often filled with so much joy and happiness. The zeal for the things of God occupies your heart and you love being with the brethren. Attending church programs was something you always looked forward to including evangelising and telling the story of your new life in Christ.
Are those days gone now? What has happened to the daily renewed life? Have you left your first love? How is your zeal for the house of God now? Do you now see church services as "boring" or "inspiring like the good old days?
Beloved, if yes to any of the above questions, then it is time for revival. "Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent."
Today’s Recite: "Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning." - Mark 13:35 (KJV)
Today’s Morning Prayer: Oh Lord I come to you today heartbroken for the good old day. Forgive me for failing my first love for You. Restore unto me the joy and peace of salvation; the love of the brethren. Bestow upon me the zeal for the house of God. Revive me O Lord. For in Jesus' name, I pray. Amen
