""Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip." - Hebrews 2:1
The most common and fatal accidents among mountaineers are slips and falls. This was according to a report Mountaineers Safety Report (2018-2021). But they are preventable incidents if mountaineers are watchful of climbing off from the normal trail, water dripping across the trail, abnormal patterns in trails from previous climbers, and communication.
Similarly, to prevent spiritual slips and falls, it is important to hold tight to the sword of the Spirit: the word of God. Like abnormal trails on the mountain, bad precedence must be avoided. The three sons of Eli were bad precedents that God put an end to by removing the descendants of Eli from the priesthood. God saw in Samuel a potential safe and steadfast priest to the Lord. And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground." (1 Samuel 3:19).
Dear friend, it does not matter your age. God can use you greatly if you don’t let His word slip from your hands and heart. The end of the world will witness drifting away from the faith, and the scarcity of God’s word will be the major factor. Don’t let this happen to you. Bad communication also corrupts good manners. Don’t allow yourself to be negatively influenced as to forget the word of God.
Whether you change location or you attain a new influential position, never lose grip of God’s word. God rewards steadfastness and loyalty. James 1:25 says, “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”
Today’s Recite: "And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground." - 1 Samuel 3:19.
Today’s Morning Prayer: Oh God I receive grace to hold on to Your word. I will never let them slip. I refuse to backslide. I will keep climbing up and not faint. None of your word will slip away from my hands in Jesus might name! Amen
