NOVEMBER 21: DO GOD'S WILL

DO GOD'S WILL

"For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication" - 1 Thessalonians 4:3

A man once narrated an experience. "I entered a waiting hall with a few seats one day. There were still some empty seats when I arrived. But there was a particular seat with obvious stains of vomit on it and the floor near it. As people entered and took seats, everyone continued to avoid the seat. As others joined the hall later, they would make an initial attempt to sit but on seeing the stain, they avoided and retreated to standing. Soon I saw people standing in the hall while the stained seat and two adjacent to it remained vacant till the end of the 2-hour event."

Believers are to see sins as stains of vomit that must be avoided like the seats in the story above. Abstinence is the golden action after praying unto God for sanctification. Fornication is one of the few sins that one may commit against oneself and by extension the temple of the Holy Ghost. Fornication or adultery is a detestable stain in any Christian life. If seen afar off, it must be avoided. Its temptation must be fled from. Sanctification is a spiritual action on the whole human being: the spirit, soul and body. It is an action of making 'your being' pure and holy.

My dear friend, certain things are just consecrated to prevent being contaminated. So is your vessel, so "that every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour". This is the will of God. Do the will of God. Flee fornication. Leave your sinner friends and their immoral pursuits behind. You are now a saint with God. How more magnificent and delightful would it be to be called the sons and daughters of the Almighty God, the King of kings!

Today’s Recite: The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Titus 2:11-12

Today’s Morning Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for saving me. Sanctify me today. I am ready to do Your will. Grant me Your grace and strength to flee fornication and adultery. I renounce all ungodly relationships. I consecrate myself to be specially used by You. Keep me holy and undefiled. Keep me in Your heavenly dignity, honour and magnificence in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!

Today’s Hymn: DRAW ME NEARER
