"And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD." - Genesis 4:26
Abel was brutally murdered by his own brother out of envy. God had answered Abel's prayers and sacrifices but rejected Cain's. The death of Abel put worship and prayers to God into extinction, at least for a season. It was a one-man worship model and the vulnerability to envy was higher than when it was corporate (especially when only one got answered by God).
Cain and his seeds became sinful and annihilated by God. But then Seth was born: a new seed after the like of Abel. Unto Seth was also born a son, Enosh. From that moment, men began to pray and wonders of God began to happen to humanity. Hope began to rise. Innovations through divine inspiration began to drop in men's hearts. Faith began to increase. And God began to walk among men. From generation to generation even unto the fourth generation Enoch (the great-great grandson of Enosh) walked with God and was translated without tasting death. It happened because, since the day of Enos, men began to call upon God.
God regards the united prayers of men. God is under obligation, promise and covenant to answer when men gather to call upon Him. Matthew 18:20 says, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." "Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."
Jesus spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; (Luke 18:1). Men (not just one man) ought to pray. But God is not looking for a multitude. But a minimum of two. As for Seth and Enosh, there were not many men at that time. Yet God heard then and men were blessed, endowed with resources, prosperous and lived long.
When men pray, people live long. When men call upon God, untimely death ceases, and oppression stops. Should women be doing nothing? Of course, NO! Women ought to support and be worthy help-meets to remind their men to call upon God. Women are to be reminded that when men fail to pray, the whole world suffers for it. Let men begin to pray.
Today’s Recite: "I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting." - 1 Timothy 2:8
Today’s Morning Prayer: O Lord we thank You for the privilege to pray unto You and the promise to answer us when we call. We ask that You will answer the call of our men who pray. Grant them wisdom and innovational inspiration. Make strong feeble knees. Lift up their hands and may they never be lowered in Jesus name. Amen!
