NOVEMBER 15: THREE FEET FROM GOLD

THREE FEET FROM GOLD

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." - Galatians 6:9

In 1858, during the Colorado Gold Rush, a man who had been mining in Colorado, USA for several months quit his job during the gold rush because he hadn't struck gold yet and the labour was getting tiresome for him.  Another man bought his equipment and started mining where he had stopped. The engineer informed the new miner that a gold deposit was only three feet from where the first miner had stopped. The first miner gave up when he was only three feet away from striking gold.

Many people give up on pursuing their aspirations because the work is too hard, tedious or tiresome. Proverbs 24:10 says, "If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small." Some stopped helping others after years of helping others with nothing to show for it, not knowing the next person they would help would become their lifetime breakthrough reward.

Beloved, be not weary in well doing. Be resilient in your work or study. Don't take a 'no' for an answer. Be resolute in your career. Don't let the words of men or economic indices weary you into quitting halfway to your success. When things start to get difficult, make an effort to endure the hardship. Because you may be closer to the finish line than you think, and if you push just a little harder, you will succeed and hit your gold.

Dear friend, this admonition is applicable to any area of your life. Are you about to quit your marriage because you think you have tried your best? Maybe one more try will lead you to that marital breakthrough you have been dreaming of. Are you a child or servant of God contemplating quitting faith or abandoning the work of God? if you faint not, you are closer to your earthly reward than when you began. Don't give up on that new business because you may be just three feet from hitting gold!

Today’s Recite: "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." - Matthew 24:13

Today’s Morning Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for today's admonition. I ask for grace and strength to continue doing good unto others. Help me with more resilience to forge ahead in my vocation and my life project. May I never quit three feet from my gold in Jesus name. May I never labour in vain in Jesus. Amen!
