"For this cause, we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God." - Colossians 1:9-10 (KJV)
There is a man named John who has lived a life of simplicity and contentment in his village. He had never stepped out of his county to explore what was outside of his small town. He had read and heard stories of the world beyond his home but never felt the urge to see it for himself. One day, John decided that he wanted to learn more about the world. He began a journey, travelling to different places and learning all he could. He visited ancient ruins, met people of different cultures, and experienced the beauty of nature. As the days went by, Mr John's knowledge and understanding of the world increased. He found that the more he explored, the more he learned. He also found something he had never known before a deep appreciation for life and God, and all He has offered mankind.
Knowledge is power to everyone who can apply it. Otherwise, whatever you read, remains a mere fairy tale if not applied. Knowledge acquisition starts with studying. Then you graduate to going places like John. Come out of your comfort zone and explore what God has offered you. Learn from other tribes and tongues. Wisdom is rightly applied knowledge. Mr John returned to his home a much wiser and more enlightened man. He shared his newfound knowledge with those around him and taught them about the wonders of the world.
Beloved, God desires to increase you in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. But you will have to seek it not just in prayer but in action. Christ assured us that he who seeks will surely find. It is never too late to be a source of inspiration and enlightenment for your local community. For this is the will of God for you. Arise, do what you have to do.
