May 27: THE GREATEST HUMAN POWER

THE GREATEST HUMAN POWER

I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life. Deuteronomy 30:19

Choice is the greatest and yet the most abused power given to man by God. Choice is the power to freely choose in life. It is a privilege and opportunity to pick out or decide on a course of action. Each choice either lead to life or death, forward or backward, stagnant or moving. Majority of choices we make are little choices here and the (also called micro-decisions) that often lead to the big result: life or death.

From the choice of food you eat, to the choice of what you do with your body to the choice of whom to marry, whether to take a break or continue working; speak lie or tell the truth; keep quiet or speak up, you ultimately make life or death, heath or ill-health choices. The choice of food can lead to early grave. The choice to engage in immorality leads to sexually transmitted infections like AIDS. In life, there is nothing like, “I don't have a choice”. Even when only one offer is before you, refusal is a choice. Though it could be a hard choice but as long as it guarantees eternal life, it worth it.

Beloved, God has “no pleasure in the death of him that dieth” because of wrong choices. Therefore, “turn yourselves, and live ye”. (Ezekiel 18:32). Make the choice to live today. Refuse to die (gradually or sudden). Choose the truth. Choose righteousness. Why should you perish? God has no pleasure in your death but your survival. “The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23).

Today’s Recite: ’Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" Romans 6:16

Today’s Morning Prayers:  Heavenly Father I thank You for the giving the greatest power on earth. I confess that I might have abused this power severally. Forgive me Lord. I come to You today to choose Jesus and life eternal, to choose blessing and progress. Lord bless my decisions in Jesus mighty name! Amen!
