‘’The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake” - Psalm 23:1-3
Sheep are naturally vulnerable as they are easily frightened. They become anxious and defenseless even much more when alone. They hence rely on their shepherd for safety. It is therefore no wonder while believers are described as sheep. Every genuinely born-again becomes a target of the devil, predators from day one. Satan is a threat to the vulnerable newbie in Christ and a good reason for keeping company with the flock of Christ wherever you are. Even the old and experienced sheep still need the guidance of the good shepherd for safety and provision.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the good and great shepherd we can trust at all times ( John 10:11; Hebrew 13:20). He priortises the safety and provisions of His flock. He left 99 to seek the one lost. He believed the 99 are safer together than the more vulnerable one that has wondered. He laid his life for the sheep. When the devil stiffens our finances, the good shepherd provides. The great Shepherd provides comfort and peaceful zone for his own sheep. Our Lord Jesus is also known as the Chief Shepherd (1 Peter 5:4) among the pastors who also work and watch over the flock.
At times, "we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way," but the great Shepherd seeks to restore us; even taking the blame for our wandering and backsliding (Isaiah 53:6). Are you lost? As admonished by Apostle Peter, please return now to the Shepherd and Bishop of your soul (1 Peter 2:25).The good shepherd shall restore you. Are you in need of peace and comfort? The great Shepherd is here now. Are you in need? The chief Shepherd shall supply all your needs and you shall want nor wander no more. Amen!
Today’s Recite: ’’I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick. (Ezekiel 34:16)
Today’s Morning Prayers: Oh Lord Jesus, my Great and Good Shepherd, I thank You for laying down Your life for me. I confess that I'm vulnerable and defenseless with You. I ask that You will never leave me nor forsake me. In my little wandering find me quickly Lord. Grant me Your comfort physically and financially in Jesus name! Amen!
