‘’You do the deeds of your father.”Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication...” - John 8:41
One day, there was a dispute between two boys on the street and they were in altercations. One threatened to beat the other and the other then said, “if you are truly born of your father, touch me”. This got him angry, “I will prove to you today, I’m not a bastard” And he went physical and it was a bloody fight between them.
Such occurrence like this is not uncommon in relationship-gone-wrong, between husband and wife, in homes, workplace, or community. This should never occur among true God’s children. Such words, “if you are born by your father...do this, do that” can only come the devil. And only the child of the devil, or someone under the influence of devil will fall for it. And the devil said to Jesus, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here.” (Luke 4:9). The devil is an instigator, and author of confusion. Don’t fall for him. When someone begin to say, “I’m not born of fornication” (meaning “I’m not a bastard”), then something is wrong. It is not a matter of words but deeds. What you do thereafter, will prove who your true father is. For the “deeds of your father” you will do: “fight or flight”.
Dear friend, Jesus Christ did not prove satan He was the Son of God. You don't have to prove to the evil challenger anything. You just walk away or flee. You are not coward but a victor doing so. Because your identity is hidden in Christ who already has your name in the book of life. “Because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father” (Galatians 4:6). And Doubtless God is our father... thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer”(Isaiah 63:16). But who truly is your father? Seek His salvation. Do you easily angered? Seek sanctification.
Today’s Recite: ’’Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children." (Ephesians 5:1)
Today’s Morning Prayers: Heavenly Father, I thank you for today. Grant me Your grace to always carry with me the Spirit of Christ everywhere. I refuse to be instigated by the devil into any fight. Stamp thine own imagine upon my heart in Jesus name. Amen!
