‘’And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah and he girded up his lion, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jazreel’’. - 1 Kings 18:46.
“It is not by might, nor by power but by my Spirit" says the Lord. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Elijah had undertaken the impossible on Mount Carmel for about nine hours. Humanly speaking, he could have been tired due to various activities such as preparing and rebuilding of altar, prayer, offering of sacrifices, among other things. Despite all these, Elijah still ran afoot ahead of Ahab who rode on Camel, getting to the gate of Jezreel before the king.
Elijah represented men who lean on God while Ahab signified people who depend on the arms of flesh. Have you be leaning on your own power? Hear this, ‘’trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge God and He shall direct thy path." (Proverbs 3:5,6). ‘’Be focused and courageous. There is a race before you to run. There is a destination to get to in life and ministry. The race may be spiritual, academic, financial, material, marital, relational, carrier-wise and otherwise. These things will definitely compete with you. Will you win or lose?
Jezreel means “sown or planted by God”. The Lord has prepared a land of abundance for you. And I declare to you today, ‘you will take that land in Jesus name’. It is possible. You can do it. You can outrun all your competitors. You can get to your gate of Jezreel before anyone does. Don’t be discouraged, get up and run. The strength is in you. You are neither a failure nor a dullard. You are not a coward nor a vanquish. Only stand up in the name of the Lord and remember that those who wait on the Lord, He will renew their strength and mount up with wings as eagle until they get to that destination of holiness, business success, academic success, marital success and whatever any success you desire for yourself and others in Jesus name. But you have to lay aside the little weights of sins that slow you down. Repent and renounce all your past old sinful ways of life. God will pardon. Stand on the promises of God and see you in Jezreel.
