AND THE KING COULD NOT SLEEP

Text: ESTHER 5:1 - 6:14

‘’“That night the king could not sleep. So one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king” (Esther 6:1)

Yes, “that night the king could not sleep”. It was a night Modecai was to be executed under the gallows. A night to silence the righteous. It was a night of conspiracy against the children of God. The story of Modecai being promoted  and celebrated instead is a true example of influence by prayer and fasting. Prayer can change the course of events in our lives. Prayer can turn failure to success, upturn defeat to victory, convert death to life. Prayer can take away sleep from kings until you are favoured.

Our King of kings is always awake on our behalf. “Who is like unto the LORD our God.... who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!” (Psalm 113:5, 6). He doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth. Dan. 4:35). He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.” (Psalms 121:3). The eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. (2 Chronicles 16:9).

Beloved, as Boaz could not rest until he performed the matter concerning Ruth, and took away sleep from king Abimelech for having Abraham's wife, your benefactors and suitors shall not rest until you are favoured. “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered and you are more value than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:29,30). But this comes not except by prayer of faith. Esther and her people fasted and prayed. And God kept the king awake on their behalf. May kings and presidents open the book of rememberance for you today in Jesus name. Amen!

Today’s Morning Prayers:  My King of kings who never sleeps nor slumbers I thank You. I pray O Lord God that all my petitions before all authorities be attended to in earnest in my favour. May kings, governor, presidents, judges, directors and whosoever is concerned in my matter not sleep until I am favoured today in Jesus name. Amen!
