HE KNOWS HIS OWN

The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. - 2 Timothy 2:19

In the cattle market one day, two rearers were almost at loggerheads over mixups with the cattle they brought to the market to sell. One had used a marked his initials on all his cows with green ink. He said to the other rearer, “We dont need to quarel, I know my own, they have the green paint on them. If any cow has no green mark initials on it, then it’s yours.” And that was how the herds were identified and the rift was averted.

God has placed His name on the foreheads of everyone whose name is written in the book of Life. “His name shall be in their foreheads” (Revelation 22:4). This is God’s ID; the seal of the Holy Spirit on true believers. But due to choice and actions, not everyone belongs to God, and not everyone is known by God. Such choice includes the choice to serve idol or satan, the choice to love the world above God. “Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God” (James 4:4 NKJV). On the extreme ends of being unknown by God is sin, works of iniquities and wickedness. Because “he that committeth sin is of the devil...” (1 John 3:8). But God knows His own.

Dear friend, for this reason Christ came to destroy the works of the devil and reconnect man to God. Salvation through Christ is the only way for this reconciliation and it comes with a price. A price to forsake all and surrender to God, so He can have you and you can have Him. The moment you make such choice to follow Jesus and please God, a new name, wriiten in the Book of Life is given you. You must follow Christ in deeds. Christ said, “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep...and my sheep listen to me” (John 10:14). Are you a beleiver already, depart from iniquity so God can know you as His.

Today’s Recite: Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. (2  Corinthians 1:21, 22).

Today’s Morning Prayers:  Heavenly Father, I thank You for Jesus Christ. I surrender and rededicate my life to You today. Seal me with Your everlasting Identification. Keep me away from iniquities. Keep me in Your will always in Jesus mighty name! Amen!
