WHAT DOES YOUR FAITH MEASURE?

“For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith (Romans 12:3). 

A man was making an interstate travel in his private car. There was fuel scarcity nationwide. He set on the journey without enough fuel. At every town, he passed he hoped to fill up but all the stations were shut. Just a few miles to a town where he could get fuel, he ran out of fuel and could not go on with the journey. He abandoned his car and had to board another vehicle to buy fuel to complete the journey. 

Like the fuel in the man’s car, so is our faith. From the start, there must be evidence and certainty that your faith would carry you to achieve your set target, to receive what you ask God or to reach the proposed destination. Faith is substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen. Faith is not based on uncertainty, rather on measure of substantive or potential resources.  Faith is not based on luck or probability but on your potentiality: what you possess. You can’t ask God for a job as a doctor, when you do not possess medical degree or requisite skills. What is your faith level? What is your capacity to receive that contract or offer? 

Beloved, if your measure of faith is weak, low or small and you doubt on bigger things, God deals with you low or little. “O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” (Matthew 14:31). If your faith is great, He deals with you great. “Great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.” (Matthew 15:28). If you want an increase in faith, you need to first work on your capacity, your potential. Improve on yourself first because faith without work is non-existent. Embrace and internalize God’s word: the faith booster. And finally choose your co-pilgrim well. People you journey with may affect your faith level: causing faith leak or puncture through discouraging words.

Today’s Recite: And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” (Luke 17:5)

Today’s Morning Prayers:  O God thank You for another new day of grace. Increase my faith today. Help my unbelief. Increase my capacity to accommodate your blessings in my life. Add more vessels to my pots of oil in Jesus mighty name! Amen!
