May 13: OUT OF SIGHT

Daily Companion  |  13 May

OUT OF SIGHT

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3)

A young mother took her little girl for shopping. As they finished shopping and were about to pay at the till, she remembered another item to buy. She asked the cashier to keep an eye on her girl while she quickly picked up the missed-out item. As long as the mother was in sight, the girl was calm. As the mother moved out of sight, she began to cry. The mother appeared again and she was quiet.

Like the little girl, we are anxious, worried and scared because we lose sight of God. No one ever got scared when stayed focused on God because it is always peaceful with Him. In the worst scenarios, unpleasant events may occur, but God is always around to calm the raging storms. David knew the importance of having God in sight while he was faced with persecutions and tribulations. “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee; he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22). Prophet Isaiah said, “I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation (Isaiah 12:2).

Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? (Matthew 8:26). What betides you that you are about to deny God? Scare of the oppression by night? Worried about the future or your finance? Worried about your child’s or loved one’s health? Calm down first and look up to God. In case you have tried looking unto God but He seems out of sight, He might just be behind the partition of sin separating you. “The effect of righteousness [shall be] quietness and assurance for ever” (Isaiah 32:17). Put away sinful habits and seek God’s righteousness today. The righteous is bold as lion because God is with him. Have faith in God’s saving grace, then He “in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength” (Isaiah 30:15). And never lose God out of sight again!

Today’s Recite: I will lift up my eyes to the hills: from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. “He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.” (Psalms 121:1-3).

Today’s Morning Prayers:  O God I thank You for always being our peace. Help me to always remain focused on you. Everything that seem to keep you out of sight in my life I remove in Jesus name. Speak peace to my life and family today in Jesus might name! Amen!
