“Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all. (Galatians 4:1)
For children, festivities periods are moments of pleasures and excitements. They cry or fight over balloon, toys, They are attracted by fantasies, colorful events, and all the amusements of the world. A child may get absorbed in such material things that it becomes difficult to get him off from them. They become captivated, often easily lured. Hence they need to be safeguarded and controlled.
"Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world” (Galatians 4:3). Like little children, we lacked rationale for our various actions and misdemeanors. We learnt and acted ignorantly and stupidly. So it is not surprising that heirs of the kingdom are in bondage of wordiness today. But as we grow up in the faith, it is time to do away with childish things and be free from the elements of worldliness that easily entangle us. “As long as the heir is a child, he’s not different from a slave.” As long as a believer still loves the fantasies of this world, he is not different from an enslaved sinner. It is of great concern when the word of Go says, “Woe unto you when your king is a child” (Ecclesiastes 10:16-17)
Dear friend, it is time to grow up and take up your dignity and honour in the kingdom. Do away with childish and worldly things and ascend the throne of Your Heavenly Father to reign and rule with Him over principalities and powers. “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age” (Titus 2:11-12).
Today’s Recite: Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Galatians 4:7)
Today’s Morning Prayers: O Lord, I thank you for a new day and month of grace. I disentangle myself from bondage of worldly amusements today. I am a heir. I refuse to be a slave to the world. in Jesus name. Amen!
