AN ANSWER OF PEACE

So, Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”  Genesis 41:16 (NKJV)

Sister Mariam was due to deliver her first baby. It had been over 13 hours of prolonged labour. On getting her to the hospital, the doctor found that it was a breech pregnancy and an emergency caesarean section had to be performed. The family was uneasily waiting and praying for the successful outcome of the operation. On seeing the doctor, the husband rushed to him, “Doctor, how was it?” “Congratulations, the baby, and mother are fine,” the doctor said.

There are moments like this that we are so anxious to know the outcome of a challenging situation. It could be during family travails, after examinations, any application (job or immigration), et cetera. As Joseph expressed his confident persuasion in God, you shall receive an answer of peace from Him. There is only always Goodnews from God, for His thoughts continually about you is of peace, to give you a peaceable outcome. .  David said, “By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us, O God of our salvation, …the confidence of all the ends of the earth, …who still the noise of the seas, and …make the outgoings of the morning and evening rejoice” (Psalms 65:5-8).

Beloved, we may be tempted to ignorantly to classify some of His answers to us as bad news because they seem contrary to our expectations. Pharaoh dream interpretation came with both years of famine and of fatness. But both turned out to be good that there was no want in poverty such that “…he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack.” (Exodus 16:18). The famine brought reconciliation of Joseph with his brother. Pharaoh made peace with God and with God’s servant to receive the answer of peace. If you will receive answer of peace from God, you can’t be at war with Him through rebellion and disobedience. Make peace with God today and you shall receive an answer of peace.

Today’s Recite: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

Today’s Morning Prayer: Heavenly Father I come today to receive Your peace into my life. I thank Your Jesus Christ whom You have made our peace. I renounce any rebellions attitude to Your word today. Confirm Your answer of peace in my life, family and community today in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
