GOD’S WAY, NOT YOURS
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV)
A man has a very naive but very intelligent and supportive daughter. The daughter would always want to do something new on her own to impress her father. So, one day she decided to make a cup of tea for her diabetic father. Prepared in a plastic cup with much refined sugar added to the tea, the diabetic father could not drink the tea, though appreciative of her.
The story above reveals ignorance in otherwise willing and kind mind. At times, due to our ignorance we do things in the wrong ways. It is however more sinful if done deliberately; and more pardonable to be ignorant in innocence than to be arrogant in ignorance. God detests the latter and frowns at the former. God’s ways and thoughts are different from ours. He is Superior in knowledge and understanding. He is the Ancient of Days. He is the Omniscient. His ways are higher than ours.
Certain things we add to our ways of life, culture, are contrary to His preferences. Hence, we need to grow in the knowledge of His will and way in order to please Him.
Dear friend, as you embark on your journey this day, week and month, always remember God has a better way that will lead you to your expected and secured end. God says, “As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young, Spreading out its wings, taking them up, Carrying them on its wings, So the LORD alone led him, and there was no foreign god with him.” (Deuteronomy 32:11,12). In your conversation, activities, projects, let God’s way prevail. In conflicts, let God’s way be. Take instructions from His word. Accept Jesus Christ, the Way and the Truth as your Guide. As you go out today, may the LORD your God go “in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day”. Amen! Deuteronomy 1:32,33).

Today’s Morning Prayer: Oh God I come to you this day for understanding and knowledge of Your way. Lead me in Your path. Input Your thoughts into mine so as to know Your mind in everything I do or say. Preserve my going out and coming in. For in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
