TRUST ISSUES WITH GOD

Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:8

A businessman had just had his goods arrived from the port. His visiting brother offered to help him offload from the container. “Thank you, I won’t need your help”, the businessman declined. “But I am strong enough to carry load,” the brother insisted. “Yes I believe you can, but I don’t trust you.”

The words of the businessman could explain why Christians believe in God and yet do not trust God. Trust is the reliability and truth in someone’s ability. Can I rely on God to lead me? If I follow Jesus today, how am sure He will take care of me? Will God take care of me if I stop my sinful relationship? Is it true God can heal me? How reliable is God to choose the best for me? How sure am I that God won’t fail or disappoint me? How reliable is He to protect me, or save me out of my current trouble? These are trust questions. And if you cannot answer those questions with 100% assurance, then there is trust issue with God. So, you can see how God knows if you trust Him or not.

Many profess to be believers but have trust issues with God. Trust is the bedrock for unwavering faith. A little trust issue brings doubt. When faith lacks complete trust it becomes a ‘little faith’. Jesus told Peter, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31).

Beloved, God cannot bend His rule and standard. You cannot receive from God if you have trust issues with Him. He only rewards those who trust in Him. He demands your total trust. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart…” (Proverbs  3:5). “He I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.” (Psalm 32:8,10).

Trust Him not just for once but forever. If you can trust in the Lord this day and believe, “you would see the glory of God” (John 11:40).

Today’s Recite Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Psalms 37:5-6 (NKJV)

Today’s Morning Prayer: Oh Lord Jesus I repent of my past trust issues with You. Forgive me. I surrender my will and way unto You care today and I completely trust in Your ability to take care of me. Grant me and others like me more grace to trust in You in Jesus name. Amen!

Today’s Hymn: Trust and Obey

Today’s Read Me: Deuteronomy 29 – 31
