Bible Passage:Judges 9:7-13
‘’Even everyone that is called by my name: for I have created them for my glory, I have formed him, yea, I have made him’ ’Isaiah 43:7
There was a group of older ministers conducting deliverance session on an individual, someday, then a young brother opened the door on them and took over from them without being invited and dealt with the issue they had been battling with for hours. Then their eyes got opened to see that someone they had been ignoring before was equally an instrument in the hand of the Lord.
Everyone at home, church and society is important irrespective of his background or disability. Everyone called by God is clean, useful and special and should not to be addressed as common (Acts 11:15). Going by their confessed shortcomings, no one would imagine that people like Moses, Jeremiah, Joshua, Gideon, Peter and John would be used of God. Hence, as an individual, do not look down on yourself. Neither should anyone, family, man or woman do the same. Rather, we should rise to help everyone put their best to use. Remember, all members of our body are useful (2 Corinthians 12:12-24).
Making everyone useful is our duty to one another (Acts 18:24-28; 1 Corinthians 1:12). Everyone can be useful if only each person can be worked on as Judges 9:7-13 suggests. The way you view and regard yourselves is what is known as self-esteem. Everyone occasionally criticises themselves, but if you do this frequently or consistently assess yourself negatively, you may be suffering from low self-esteem.
Focus on whom God has created you for: your strength, self-worth, value, and dignity. You must allow yourself to be worked on by God or anyone he may choose to use for you. Apollo (Acts 18:24-28) and Onesimus (Philemon 10-14) were worked on to become useful vessels in the hand of God. Yield yourself to God and to his instruments in sincere repentance. Be redeemed to rediscover yourself. He is the Porter, and you are the clay. Jeremiah 8:1-6. Has God chosen to mentor, teach or lead others? Pray for grace to be able to help others grow under you (Hebrews 4:16). Be patient while teaching others to make them whom God wants them to be (1 Timothy 3:2).
