DO YOU KNOW GOD BY NAME?

Bible Passage: Psalm 9:7-12

And those who know Your name will put their trust in You. For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You. Psalms 9:10 (NKJV)

An unknown man was found unconscious by the roadside and brought to the accident and emergency unit of the hospital. He was to be registered for medical record purpose. But because there was no single  form of identity found on him, ‘UNKNOWN’ was placed on his record for many days until a relation came to identify him.

Names are given so others can identify us. Hence, names are for external use. So is God’s name. God does not need His name for Himself but for you and me. God places less importance to His own name than His word, but we need that name like David for our own miracles and blessings. “I will…praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name” (Psalms 138:2). God’s name is for our use!

God’s influence, impulse and impact on us is in His name. This is his name whereby he shalt be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS (Jeremiah 23:6). He becomes your righteousness, and you are blameless when you know Him by that name. He works wonders in your life when you know His name as “Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father” (Isaiah 9:6).

Calling a name when you cannot identify the person is as frustrating and disappointing as not knowing the name at all especially when the person chooses not to answer you.  But  Paul said “I know whom I have believed” (2 Timothy 1:12). David said “Hear me when I call, O God …when …in distress…hear my prayer (Psalms 4:1). When you need Peace, and no more wars, “He is our peace” (Ephesians 2:14). “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” (Proverbs 18:10).

Do you know God and His name? But you need to repent first to know Him. We know God does not hear a sinner except to repent (John 9:31). When you know God, you’ll know He’s holy and doesn’t not condone sin. But He is full of mercy and grace to the humble, a deliverer to the oppressed, a Saviour in the time of trouble a Prospérer of the righteous. Know God by His name today and receive His impartation!

Today’s Recite:  He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. (Psalms 91:15)

Today’s Morning Prayers:  O Lord God I thank You for You are the Mighty God who saves. I call You be Your name today for my salvation, miracle, and prosperity. Answer me Lord when I call you in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Today’s Hymn: Jesus Saves, Jesus Saves
