WALK WITH GOD

Can two walk together unless they are agreed?  - Amos 3:3

Have you ever tried to login to an online account and the password did not match? Incorrect password means what your input did not align with what was expected. Unless the password matches, there won’t be any progress with the transaction. So is walking with God.

Agreement is compatibility with another, a harmony in opinion or feeling, an absence of incompatibility between two people. Agreement is a bedrock of relationship. To walk with one another, there needs to be an agreement. Light and darkness do not align. “God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another… (1 John 1:5,7).

Agreement is choosing side. To walk with God, you need to choose God’s side. It is like Moses asking Israel, “Whoever is on the LORD’s side—come to me!” (Exodus 32:26). Relationship is threatened when people take opposing sides. Your relationship with God becomes severed when you take sides with the world, sin or Satan and disobey God. “…whosoever…will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God (James 4:4). But you can choose like the apostles, “We ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29).

Agreement makes us comfortable and pleased with others.  It promotes love, affection, and unity. We are at peace and happy with people we agree or reconcile with, so is with God! “we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son… but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:10, 11). What a joy to walk with Him side by side!

Beloved, when we agree with God, we can easily commune and commute with Him. “Enoch walked with God” because he pleased God (Genesis 5:22; Hebrew 11:5). Do you seem struggling with God’s will or does God seem far away because someone or something is in-between? Someone or something you chose instead of God. You can get to walk with Him by reconciling with Him in prayer this morning. God is waiting for you to walk with Him.

Today’s Recite: The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. (2 Corinthians 13:14)

Today’s Morning Prayer: O God, I want to walk with You. I agree with You. I will obey You. I will love You as You love me. Give me Your grace to walk with You in Jesus name. Amen!

Today’s Hymn: CLOSE TO THEE
