ABLE GOD

Bible Passage: Matthew 9:27-31

Now to Him who is ABLE to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. - Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)

Though blind, the two men, in our text today, were not deaf. They have heard the words of the Lord. They have listened to the testimonies of others, and they concluded: they needed a miracle! Certain difficult situations bring desperations for a miracle. And here we have the Almighty God, Jehovah, the Able God.

When you face temptation, He is the Lord who is “Able to succour them that are tempted” (Hebrew 2:18), When you need an Advocate, our Lord is “Able ... to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” (Hebrews 7:25). When we need deliverance from our persecutors, God we serve is “Able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace” (Daniel 3:17).

When you think holiness seems impossible, hear this: He is Able to keep you from failing, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.” (Jude 24). When you need to safely secure your property, my Lord God is “Able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. (2 Timothy 1:12).

When you lack the grace to move further, remember He is Jehovah who is Able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8). But sin often removes our boldness and confidence to attract His ability into our lives. We seem to also forget that He also Able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28) and those who walk in pride He is Able to put down (Daniel 4:37). Be humble.

Dear friend, we need mercy to obtain a miracle. like the two blind men approached the Lord for mercy, you can do better today. Ask for mercy and you will receive your own miracle too. Repent and renounce sin and Satan. Then you’ll need to answer His question: “Believe ye that I am able to do this? according to your faith be it unto you. (Matthew 9:28, 29).

Today’s Recite: There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another? James 4:12 (NKJV)

Today’s Morning Prayer: My Able God,  I thank You for another new day of possibility. I seek Your mercy today for miracles of salvation and sanctification, security and prosperity in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!

Today’s Hymn: In Times Like This
