March 10: IT’S THE WORK OF THE DEVIL

Daily Companion  |  10 March

IT’S THE WORK OF THE DEVIL

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8

A man was caught in the sin of incest. A woman was exposed in adultery. An adult was caught having canal knowledge of an underage. A young man found killing another for money. A housemaid was caught on secret camera maltreating a child in her care. There is a common occurrence to all of these and many other similar stories, “it’s the work of the devil.”

The works of the devil cannot be overemphasised. From the foundation of the world till the world ends, the devil will continue to rule the minds of the unsaved.  Most of devil’s works are not even exposed. The secret sins men and women, youth and adults commit are influenced by the devil who governs their lives because he who sins is of the devil. Even all believers are warned to beware!

For this purpose, Jesus Christ came to destroy the works of the devil. A life without Christ is a devil’s toy. Satan tosses with men’s hearts and has succeeded in destroying, killing and sending many lives to hell where he too belongs. Devil is an untamed dog on the rampage. Every wise person takes refuge in Christ who purposely came to destroy the works of the devil.

Dear friend, you might have been struggling with some bad habits, some shameful sins. You seem not able to control them as they keep on recurring. It could be in your family: the secret works of the devil that have been exposed or yet to be exposed in your home. You need Jesus this morning to destroy all these works of the devil before he (the devil) destroys you and all that you have. You cannot overcome the devil by any arm of flesh. “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers… (Ephesians 6:12). It will be suicidal to go out today without Christ. Repent this morning, surrender to Jesus Christ, and accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour. And He shall destroy the works of the devil in your life, family and business.

Today’s Recite: Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57).

Today’s Morning Prayer: Oh Lord Jesus, I thank You for purposely coming to the world to destroy the works of the devil in my life. I confess all my sins, open and secret. I hereby surrender my life to You. As you have promised, I ask You to totally destroy all the works of the devil in my life and family. Grant me Your everlasting victory. Amen!
