“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” - Isaiah 1:18
Jesus Christ had just returned from an evangelical mission back to His nativity place when a cripple man was brought in a mat to Him to heal. Jesus who saw their faith, said to the man, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.” (Matthew 9:1-3). To Jesus, it was the easier thing to do than healing. It requires no unction to forgive.
Our God takes pleasure in forgiving sins. There is no sin so big or terrible that He can’t forgive. Like our key verse today says, no sin passes beyond God’s forgiveness. It is His desire to forgive. Many sins men commit on daily basis are forgiven and overlooked by default. David said, “If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?” (Psalms 130:3-4). God forgives sins not only for our sakes but for His own sake. “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” (Isaiah 43:25). He also forgives so that men would fear. "But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared.”
Beloved, take pleasure in forgiving others even as God on daily basis forgives you. Everyone deserves to be forgiven including the hardest sinners. There is no need to hold guilt and burden of sins in your heart too while you waste away in poverty, misery and bondage. Allow God forgive you. He bids you come to Him now. Come to Jesus today, confess all your sins and pray Him like David, “Forgive all my sins” (Psalm 25:18).
