INNER SIGHT

“LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. - 2 Kings 6:17 (NKJV)

There was a man of God who had the gift to see and hear things, even things that kings say in their bedroom. He was gifted to spy for his country's military. So in one occassion, Syrian military secretly strategised to invade Israel but the man of God saw it and revealed the plan to Israeli government. Furious that their planned invasion has leaked out, Syrian army was sent after the man of God. While his abode was sourrounded, the assistant to the man of God ran to his master, “Sir, we are on siege!” The man of God said, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha assistant eyes was open to see an invisible great army of God with chariots of fire around Elisha.

You may think Elisha gift of seeing things is rare or wondered if ever such is possible today. Inner eyes are not rare. And yes, it is possible to have an inner eye, also known as the inner vision or sight, or as called by some philosophers, the “third eye”.

We all possess the inner eyes which by default are close by God. God will have to open yours to see beyond the ordinary. But you must have genuine purpose and pray God to use it . Elisha asked God to open his servant’s eyes to see the invisible chariots of fire. Christ opened the disciples’ eyes “that they might understand the scriptures” (Luke 24:45).

Beloved, you need your inner eyes open to see God’s wondrous security around you, and His future plan for you. This will help you to take the right steps in the right direction;  to see success and not failure; to see victory and not defeat. You can pray like David now: “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law” (Psalm 119:18).

Today’s Recite: "To open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’  - Acts 26:18 (NKJV)

Today’s Morning Prayer: Oh God I thank You for the gift of inner eyes. I need You to open my eyes today to see what plans and provisions You've got for me. I see Your security around my family and all that I have in Jesus name I pray. Amen!

Today’s Hymn: COME, HOLY SPIRIT, COME (CHS 67)
