The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. - Proverbs 18:10.
It was a terrifying experience during a student riot at the university some decades ago. The school was closed down and students were asked to vacate their halls of residence. Three young christians were trapped in the middle of the riot and they could not find a place to hide from the violent riot. But one of them remembered an uncle who lived close to the campus. They ran there to take refuge till the riot was curtailed. It was such a relief for them.
Life challenges and trial may be overwhelming. Such challenges may come sudden, as emergencies. Tragedy may strike. The unexpected may happen. You look around no where to run to. But you only need to remember that there is a God who cares and specialises in handling the most humanly overwhelming, risky and impossible situations. David said, "For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy" (Psalms 61:3). I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation (Isaiah 12:2).
Have you tried all possible options around you without a solution? Why can’t you try look up to the Hill of the Lord, where help comes from? Is it health, financial, relationship emergency? El Shaddai is able. He is bigger than all the seen or unseen mountains and fears. The LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people. I Samuel 12:22 Beloved, come unto the Saviour today. Jesus said, anyone who comes to Me I will by no means cast out (John 6:37). The Lord God is the strong tower. Run to Him. Call on Him now! He will come running to save you too. Amen!
