THE CENTRE OF KNOWLEDGE INCREASE

“For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea”. Isaiah 11:9 (NKJV)

 Knowledge is vital to human existence and survival. Knowledge is light and power. Ignorance is darkness and weakness, and it may lead to destruction and untimely death. Knowledge has continued to bring advancement and ease of living to the entire world. With advancing knowledge, people can travel over thousands of miles within few hours instead of walking or riding on carmels for weeks. As captured by Daniel, “many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” (Daniel 12:4) Those who are limited in knowledge may think an aeroplane or a space rocket is a mystery, or a speaking robot is a spirit. Yet these are established by basic knowledge and rules. All that is required from us is to know the basics and follow the rules. 

God continues to release knowledge and wisdom to man gradually as we age, get closer to the end of time and ushered into the world of supernatural intelligence. We are closer to eternity than ever. Now is our salvation nearer than when we began. For now, “we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away... For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” (1 Corinthians 13:9-12) This is the reality with increase in knowledge. However, we must constantly remind ourselves that God is in the centre of these. “Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.” (Proverbs 3:7). 

Beloved, let us be open to knowledge and more knowledge of God’s word with simplicity of heart, even as we apply the knowledge to expand the gospel. But nations that forget God (as the source of this knowledge) will be turned into hell (Psalm 9:17). It doesn’t matter how famous or intelligent you are, whether your name is in the Guinness Book of World Records for your innovations or intelligence, if you’re not found in Book of Life, you are doomed. Accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour today and acknowledge Him as the Source of your knowledge.

Today’s Morning Prayer: O God I thank You for the knowledge and understanding You have released to humanity in order to improve our livelihood. I ask that You increase the knowledge of You more in my life. Make me know You more. No matter my achievement or attainment in this life, may I never forget You in Jesus name. Amen!
