"And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers." (Deuteronomy 30:9)
The human body contains several types of specialised cells that replicate every second. God has engineered the body in such a way to make it reproduce itself. The power to multiply and be plenteous is indwelling in every soul created by God. Just as the DNA multiplies in the cell to grow into newer ones, so the Lord has promised to deposit new ideas to make you plenteous in all ramifications. But you must work and not idle.
Our God is a hardworking God. He doesn’t expect anything less from us who are made in His image and after His likeness. He spent 6 out 7 days working, creating the air space and the earth. His first message to Adam was work: “Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work and keep it. (Genesis 2:15 - English Standard Version). The world is full of activities to keep us strong and healthy.
The flesh however tends to push the mind towards pleasures that endangers active and healthy living. We are to resist this fatal urge. Discouragement may come to dissuade you from working towards your targets, but you must rather be motivated. The Lord told Joshua, “Be strong”. (Joshua 1:5-7). To Zerrubbabel and all the people of the land, He said, “be strong” (Haggai 2:4). Paul said, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Dear friend, there is a striking consistency in the admonition from the Lord in that He assures us of His bountiful blessings when we are active. God is always with those who are hardworking to strengthen, protect and bless the work of their hands. He told Joshua, “no man shall be able to stand before you...” To Zerubbabel, “I am with you”. The Lord looked upon Gideon, and said, “Go in this thy might (Judges 6:14). Paul said, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).
Are you weak, unmotivated, or you lack interest in working for yourself or for God? Then, you need Christ in your life. God is the source of strength, courage and motivation. Ask Christ to come into your life and strengthen you today.
Today’s Recite: Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets. (Zechariah 8:9)
Today’s Morning Prayer: O Lord, my God, I thank You for making me in Your image and likeness. I come to You today for strength and courage. Let it be unto me according to Your word. You promise Your constant presence and prosperity in my life. Be with me always. I pray for long healthy life even as I work hard in Jesus name. Amen
