So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?”And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” 1 Samuel 30:8
It could be destabilizing losing own people, property, position, or power. David experienced all of these in his life time. He lost his throne momentarily to Absolom his son. The enemies had come to raid his property, attacked his family, kidnapped his wife and children. He wept sore and in the middle of this loss, he was to be stoned to death for failing as a leader.
David was found to be a man after God’s heart. He was a fervent, zealous and upright man. But he faced stiff persecutions too. He faced trials and temptations too. When hit by these tragedies, he rather faced God than to resolve to self-help. David encouraged himself in the Lord when there was no one left to exhort or support him. David clinged to God’s promise of total restoration. God has promised, “I have seen his ways, and will heal him; I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.” (Isaiah 57:18). David prayed and God gave him the victory. He recovered all.
Dearly beloved, have you lost anything? God shall restore it. It is a day and week of divine restoration for you. Pray for restoration, so you can eventually have a testimony like David. "So David recovered... and nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all." (1 Samuel 30:18-19). You shall also recover all.
You may have lost your position in God's kingdom? Remember also when God forgives you, He also forgets all your past mistakes and sins (remember the prodigal son in Luke 15). He got restored despite squandering his own inheritance. Return to the altar. Repent in sincere penitence. Our God is a faithful and just Father. He will pardon and restore.
Today’s Recite: "And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, ...And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed." - Joel 2:25
Today’s Morning Prayers: My heavenly Father, I thank You for the promise of restoration. Pardon my errors of the past. Restore unto all that I have lost to me. As I pursue, I recover all. Restore Your grace and righteousness into my life. Restore my spiritual power and dignity. Restore my financial power. Restor all the enemies have taken away from me. For in Jesus name I pray. Amen!
