Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. - Matthew 11:29.
Our Lord Jesus said, "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." (Luke 9:23). Crosses are the daily tasks, responsibilities, and the challenges that accompany them - not necessarily sufferings. Though such responsibilities are not pleasures either, they require endurance, consistency, and persistence. Continuity is picking it up from where you left it off yesterday.
Cross may have become unbearable burden to struggle with on daily basis. In you calling, career, business, or personal project, if you want to be a master and successful expert, you will need endure hardship. There might be burdens to bear. Laudable projects should never be abandoned due to little momentary discomfort the burdens may bring. According to Matthew Henry, "though we don't have to pull the cross or the burden upon our own heads, yet, when they are laid for us, we must take them up, and carry them to Christ.
Carrying the cross to Christ means exchanging it for His. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me. Allow Christ to lighten the burden for you. Take His message to the work. Work the work of envangelist and abardon your own burden at His feet. Allow Christ to mentor you by constantly following His lead, asking for His guidance, grace, and wisdom: doing it the righteous way. Do not cheat, or get corrupt but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace...(2 Timothy 2:22).
Dearly beloved, Christ yoke requires genuine salvation and consecration. And you must never be ashamed of Christ and His gospel. Be a Christ ambassador today in words and in deeds.
