January 4: IN TRANSIT

IN TRANSIT

Ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the Lord your God giveth you. Deuteronomy 12:9

Isaac’s phone just rang. He picked it up. Hello, he answered while inside a bus in a noisy and busy city. He couldn’t hear the caller clearly. “Sorry, I can’t hear you properly. It is noisy here. I’m in transit.”

Life here on earth is like ‘noisy and busy city’. You may be hustling and labouring, yet you’re misunderstood by others because of the ‘noises’. Don’t burn yourself out to hell. Remember God's word: you’re in transit. While it is essential to work to earn good income in order to feed, clothe and shelter yourself, be reminded that you are just a sojourner here in this world. You are in transit. The journey will either end in heaven or hell. A steady and conscious preparation for your final destination to heaven without or less distractions should be your utmost priority. When money comes, remember God’s word to Israel: …this is not your rest (Micah 2:10). Why? The world is ephemeral and so is your transit. Before you know it, you will be gone and ‘TRANSITION’ will be placed on your obituary. When in the position of power, remember you are in transit. When building a house, buying car, getting married, remember you are in transit. But there is good news! There remains therefore a rest to the people of God. Hebrew 4:9.

Simply accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour today. Henceforth, Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth (Colossians 3:2).

Today’s Recite:Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:20, 21

Today’s Morning Prayer:

1. Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of life. Thank You giving us Jesus Christ to redeem us and give us eternal life in heaven.

 2. Lead me to Your rest oh Lord. While I sojourn here on earth, may I not burn out in Jesus mighty name.

3. Grant me Your grace to live a balanced life without compromising my final rest. I ask all in Jesus name. Amen!

4. Help me to watch and pray.
