There is a story about a man. His name was Jacob who was renamed Israel by God. It happened that when God divided inheritance to the nations; when He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the children of Israel. Because the Lord’s portion is His people. Jacob became the place of His inheritance. Jacob was found in a desert land, in the wasteland, a howling wilderness. When found, God encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye. As an eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, spreading out its wings, taking them up, carrying them on its wings, so the Lord alone led him, and there was no foreign god (idol) with him. He made him ride in the heights of the earth, that he might eat the produce of the fields. He made him draw honey from the rock, and oil from the flinty rock.
Above narrative in Deuteronomy chapter 32 is more than just a story. It is the reality with everyone found by God, like you. Irrespective of your present situation, when you make yourself to be found by God, you become His portion. You are God’s inheritance. God cherishes His inheritance. He encircles them, so you are encircled by God. He secures them: so, you are secured by God. The devil cannot touch you. God goes extra miles to feed you with honey from the rock. Paul said, “Ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's” (I Corinthians 3:23). Solomon said, “I am His.” (Song 2:16).
Dear friend, do you know that a great transaction actually occurred before God repossess you? Here comes the evidence. Paul said, “Ye are not your own, ye are bought with a price.” (I Corinthians 6:19). Apostle John said, “We know that whoever is born (purchased) of God does not sin; We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one, Satan who wouldn’t want to give up easily.
Here comes your responsibility, he who has been born (purchased) of God keeps himself, and that wicked one (Satan) does not touch him. Dear heritage of the Lord, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
Today’s Recite: I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me. Song 7:10.
Today’s Morning Prayer: Oh God, thank You for finding me to mak me Your portion. I will never be ungrateful to You Lord. Grant me Thy Grace to always be conscious of my identity in You. Grant me grace to keep myself from idols. Lead me to my land of honey and milk. Let it please You to secure and prosper me always. For in Jesus name I pray. Amen!
