WHY ART THOU CAST DOWN?
‘’Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God for I shall yet prise him, who is the health of my countenance and my God”. - Psalm 42:11
It was one bright morning when Mr Butler woke up moody and depressed in the prison yard due to the dream he had had in the night. He sat down dejected and accepted his fate. In a moment, Mr Joseph came over and interpreted his dream to him. Mr Butler’s head was lifted up again with singing and happiness.
Like Mr Butler, every man’s heart is burdened with one thing or the other. It may be past or present challenges (as in Job 29:1-3; 30:1), future uncertainty (as in Psalms 74:9), the comments people passed on you and the pain suffered due to your predicament (2 Peter 2:7-8; Psalm 42:1-5). We must get rid of this heaviness because everyone has his appointed time. God’s thought is different from ours. God uses the living and if you die before your appointed time; you actually miss out and you know that a dead man is useless to humanity. Know for sure that hard and sorrowful times will not last forever. Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. Then, the ransomed of the LORD shall return,…with singing,…and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. (Psalms 30:5; Isaiah 35:10).
For your heart to be relieved from all burdens you need to know the truth. We ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled (2 Thessalonians 2:2), to ask questions from those who are more knowledgeable than you do, pour out your heart before God in prayer like Hannah, avoid needless comparison, knowing that everyone has challenges he faces. Above all, call upon God in sincere repentance and hope for the breaking of the new day. One of these days, your head will be raised up in appreciation and testimony to God. Amen!

Isaiah 30:10 (iv) I welcome Joy unspeakable into my heart, family, business…..in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
