AGAIN, IT IS A FRAGMENT
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33 (NKJV)
The parable of the poor old man in our yesterday devotion didn’t end there. Just a few days later while training one of the new horses, the old man’s son fell and broke his legs. Hearing the news, people gathered again, “Old man, having more horses may not be a blessing after all. Now your only son is injured and crippled.” A month later, war broke out and all the village youths were forced to join the military except his son. “Aah, injury to your son has proved to be blessing, the people gather again. “Again, a fragment, Life comes in fragments, the old man replied.”
From your neighborhood to the social media, the world has always been a judgement center: Your actions and inactions will be judged. Your trials and temptations will be judged. Don’t ever feel disappointed that such may even come from your trusted friends and even church members. It is still a fragment of life. Have you been a subject of people’s judgement due to your misfortune or mistake? Do you feel betrayed by those who should have known you better? But you are not the first. Jesus was betrayed by His own disciple. Job was misjudged by his own bosom friends. It is a fragment of life.
Beloved, be reminded, people are not your God, neither are they your enemy nor your problem too. The world is a space and spirit that you must overcome and rule. Don't let the world take your life by their sayings. The world must not overcome you by its judgment. You are of God, …and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Have Christ in you today. Only listen to God’s word. For His thoughts towards you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11). When you are judged, don’t overact, prove that in Christ you have peace. it is a mere fragment of life. It will pass.
Today’s Recite: Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)
Today’s Morning Prayer: My Father and Redeemer, I thank You for creating me in Your image and after Your likeness. Forgive me if I have judged others wrongly in the past. I receive Your divine admonition to only believe Your own report and not the world’s. Grant me grace to remain in Your plan. Redeem me from every error, or trial that may before me. I trust in You alone.
Today’s Hymn: In Christ Alone
