JUST A FRAGMENT

Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. - James 4:14 (NKJV)

A poor old man once lived in a village. He had a beautiful horse that people and even the king were jealous. He was offered fabulous prices to sell the horse and live a better life. But he would not. One day, he woke up and found the horse missing from the stable. The people gathered and said, “You are a foolish old man. Everyone wanted that horse; everyone knew that someday it would be stolen. You could have sold that horse for any price, yet you kept it. Now it’s gone, what a misfortune!” The old man replied, “Say only that my horse is missing from the stable. Nobody knows whether this is a misfortune or a blessing? — Only God knows. It’s just a fragment of life. Life comes in fragments and judgment is about the total." A few days later, the horse came back from the wilderness and with him came more horses of same breed.

Similarly our lives are filled with many fragments that we cannot be sure what tomorrow will be. Have you experienced failure or disappointment? Have you lost something precious to you? Have people written you off or worse still have you written yourself off and seem troubled and accepted your fate? Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me (John 14:1).Oh, you are boasting that you have acquired something or attained a position, right? Read again our focal verse of the day.

Beloved, life is in fragments and we are like a vapour. Don’t jump into conclusion yet. It is not finished yet until the last breath. And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, (Hebrews 9:27). Therefore, judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes (1 Corinthians 4:5). Only judgment is total. You still have time make it. Fortunes, goodness may still smile on you if you do not lose hope but believe in God and yourself. Therefore, when life comes in its fragments, take them as blessings and experiences rather than sentences.

Today’s Recite: I returned and saw under the sun that— The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all. - (Ecclesiastes 9:11).

Today’s Morning Prayer: Heavenly, I forgive me for passing judgement before the time. I’m sorry for jumping at conclusion so quickly without having faith in Your holy promises. I hereby declare it is not over until the battle is won. I receive Your grace life fragments as blessings and experiences in Jesus name. Amen!

Today’s Hymn: Have Faith In God
