ABUNDANT LIFE

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world we shall have tribulation: be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”John 16:33

Billy Graham once said, “The abundant life is the life with the capital L”. Abundant life is a life that is beyond the regular life. It is excellent, extraordinary and superior to the ordinary life. It is an all-sufficient life irrespective of the apparently prevailing circumstances.

It is never God’s desire that we should live a life of mediocrity. He desires that we enjoy His blessings and afford all the good things that we desireHowever, having abundant life is beyond having earthly possessions. It is about experiencing supernatural peace, joy, hope and love despite difficult circumstances.

Abundant life can only be found in Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life. (John 1:4). Jesus gave us eternal life, with peace of God and peace with God. Thus, the secret to living an abundant life is abiding in Christ and living the life that God designed for us.

Our Lord said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” (John 15:5).

To live an abundant life, we must also renew our mind (Romans 12:3); focus on the blessings and live a life of gratitude (I Thessalonians 5:16-18). We must also be positively oriented (Phil. 4:13).

Today’s Recite: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Today's Morning Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank You for the eternal life You have given us through Jesus. I want to experience  more of Your goodness so that I can exhibit more godliness. I ask You Lord to rule my Spirit so that I can make choices that will bring glory to Your name in Jesus name. Amen!

Today's Hymn: God Will Take Care of You (CHS 153)
