THE PROOF OF YOUR VIRGINITY

“But if the thing is true, and evidence of virginity is not found for the young woman, then... the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones. - Deuteronomy 22:20-21

Many countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East still practice the virginity test before a young woman is married or as part of a civil case of immorality or rape. This practice has also been found in the Western world like Canada, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands. While this societal practice remains controversial, the biblical concept of evidence of virginity transcends the world to eternity. Not only is it an important prerequisite to meet Jesus Christ, the Bridegroom, but it is also applicable to both men and women equally.

In a world where purity is becoming a scarce word, where self-restraint and discipline are hard to find, one cannot but be reminded of the importance God places on purity.

Being defiled is immoral and a sign of a weak mind to resist pressures and temptations. It means you may not be trusted and may give up so easily: an attribute that God detests. "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8).

It is a pride and glory for the young people to remain virgins until after marriage. Not only does God command this, but He also rewards it with both earthly and eternal blessings. "And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." (Revelation 21:27). Without the evidence of your virginity, the second death is inevitable.

God demands evidence of your virginity before you can enter the gate of heaven. This evidence includes genuine salvation, sanctification, steadfastness, innocence, purity and peace.

Dear friend, congratulations if you are naturally a virgin or a chaste virgin in Christ. But if you are not, you must first be born again, become a new creature and be sanctified by the blood of the Lamb to receive a new virginity spiritually. "For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ." (2 Corinthians 11:2).

Today’s Recite: "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God" - Matthew 5:8

Today’s Morning Prayer: O Lord, my God, I thank You for a new day of blessing. I present myself to You this day to become a new creature, purified from all impurities, and become a chaste virgin prepared to meet the Bridegroom on the last day. I receive Your grace to be steadfast and self-restrained in all my in interactions in Jesus’ name. Amen
