DECEMBER 15: THE SONG OF THE 144,000

Daily Companion  | 15 December

THE SONG OF THE 144,000

They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. - Revelation 14:3 (NKJV)

According to the Guinness World Records, The tallest man in history is Robert Pershing Wadlow from the USA, with 2.72 m (8 ft 11.1 in) of height in 1940. Robert needed to eat 8,000 calories daily, which is more than 3 times the recommended amount for an adult man. In the last 83 years, no one has ever beaten Robert. King Solomon was adjudged to be the wisest man ever lived.

Although there are some other great First-Evers that are not even known to the public, 144,000 in Revelation chapter 14 will surely be another hard record to break, not just for the world but throughout eternity. They sing songs that no one else can learn. Grace and resilience made them earn it.

In the depths of darkness, some Christians, like the 144,000, have and will continue to risk all for the service to Christ and the veracity of His gospel with all perseverance and resilience. They have abstained from all fleshly lusts and the evil deeds committed by the children of the wicked world. They have received full redemption in Christ and their hearts are righteous before God, and so, both they and Christ are exalted.

The likes of the 144,000 see what others cannot see, sing what others sing, and innovate or invent what others cannot. They carry special grace and the Spirit of excellence within them. They are always in Christ's special Convoys. They are everywhere with Jesus.

Dearly beloved, let us pray, try, and aspire to be found in this honourable likeness of the 144,000: the zealous, resilient and holy men. This position is intended for those who are truly justified (born-again) and sanctified, as no hypocrite or liar—no matter how spiritual—can be said to be blameless in God's eyes.

Today Recite: If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. - 2 Timothy 2:21

Today’s Morning Prayers: Lord, I thank You for creating me for a purpose. Lord, I need Your grace to be zealous, resilient and sanctified for Your use. I want to be special for You and my generation. I want to be in the likeness of the 144,000 saints. Sanctify me and help, Lord, to abstain from all fleshly lusts that war against the soul. Jesus name. Amen!
