August 5: GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN

GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN

“Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said.” - Joshua 14:12 (NKJV)

In life, certain targets are easy to achieve while some are difficult. Scarcely will a man choose the harder part above an easy task except he is a man like Caleb. By the way, Caleb’s name means “all heart”. It truly depicts the very character of a man who trusted in the Lord with all his heart and with all his soul.

Forty-five years earlier, he and Joshua were the only 2 out 12 who saw the possiblity of acquiring Canaan though filled with scary giants. It also took the faith of a great leader in Moses to choose the report and recommendations of the minority (2) above that of the majority (10). In today’s social, church and political leadership, it can only take a lion’s heart of faith to do this: to surmount the mountain against all odds.  Caleb showed us how little we should dreaded the enemy. He inspired Israel to press on with their conquests.

Dearly beloved, what is that task or vision that seems like a mountain before you? When tasks are being distributed, do you often prefer the hard part? Remember, inside the hard rock lies the sweetest honey and only the committed and courageous one will prefer to undertake such a daunting but rewarding adventure. He will spare not the axe nor his sweat to see the mountain crushed. Christ said, “if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” (Matthew 17:20).

Like Caleb, you will need to be committed to your goal. You must be constant in faith; confident of your God-given potential and be courageous. An act of bravery comes from the heart of heroes. And above all, be more than just a conqueror; be a winner and rule your world.

Today’s Recite: “For with God nothing will be impossible.” - Luke 1:37

Today’s Morning Prayers: My God, I thank You for the great potential inside of me. I ask that You remove every fear from me. Grant me a courageous heart to serve You and pursue my vision. All mountains that seem unsurmountable before me be removed in Jesus name. I will not back out in Jesus name. Amen!
