RESTORATION ASSURED

“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you." - Joel 2:25

David was a man of frequent losses and frequent restorations. He lost his wife and children to war ravagers. He lost his son to death. He lost his throne albeit momentarily. He was found to be a man after God’s heart. He was a fervent, zealous and upright man until he lost almost everything to lasciviousness. On realizing his loss, he cried to God, Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation” in one of the most penitent prayers in the Bible (Psalm 51:12).

Losing something or someone could mean a lot to some, and take a toll on them. Losing a source of livelihood or joy in serving the Lord could also be a double-edged dagger to the heart. Losing God’s righteousness and your position in God’s kingdom to a moment of sin or worldliness may lead to loss of spiritual power, respect, frustrations and shame. Some losses are still restorable while some are not. Certain power and position once lost may be restored while some may not. But with God nothing is impossible, all losses are restorable.

David clung to God’s promise of total restoration. God has assured him, “I have seen his ways, and will heal him; I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.” (Isaiah 57:18) Remember, when God forgives you, He also forgets all your past mistakes and sins (remember the prodigal son in Luke 15). He says, “I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins”. (Isaiah 43:25).

Dearly beloved, have you lost your first love, your honour and respect before men, demons, witches and witchcraft because of that secret or besetting sin? God says, “Come now, and let us reason together...” (Isaiah 1:18). Return to the altar. Repent in sincere penitence. Pray for restoration, so you can eventually have a testimony like David, “He restoreth my soul”. Our God is a faithful and just Father. He will pardon and restore.

Today’s Recite:  Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God. (Jeremiah 3:22).

Today’s Morning Prayers: My heavenly Father, I thank You for the assurance of restoration. Pardon my errors of the past. Restore Your grace and righteousness into my life. Restore my spiritual power and dignity. For in Jesus name I pray. Amen!
